Aim
Within the limits of its resources, Renaissance Education seeks to encourage every teacher to undertake training and development. In this way they will develop themselves to contribute fully and maximise their potential.
Approach
Training and development are based on the needs of the individual. We seek to support specific development in the following circumstances:
• a valuable “extra” within the teacher’s current main area(s) of expertise
• a naturally logical and developmental addition to the teacher’s current main area(s) of expertise
|
We do not seek to support fulltime academic courses such as an MEd, or training which is merely incidental to a teacher’s core skills.
We expect teachers to make a contribution to any training provided. Each case will be decided on its merits. We will take into account the contribution which the teacher makes to the business of Renaissance Education. We will not normally support a teacher until it has become clear that they will contribute to our business.
The strategic aim is to develop and/or fulfil potential which can be significantly developed in a relatively short space of time.
This will be achieved through strong and committed collaboration with individuals and schools.
Monitoring arrangements
Every teacher who works regularly with us is invited to open a personal portfolio with us. In this we record –
• training undertaken
• assessments
• qualifications
• appraisals
