All our teachers hold one or more of the following:

• a Criminal Records Bureau enhanced disclosure

• an "old system" police check/List 99 check carried out in the past 3 years

• if from overseas, a recent police check from their country of origin

This means that any teacher sent to a school by Renaissance complies with current clearance requirements as laid down in DfES Guidance circular 0780/2002 issued in December 2002.

If a teacher does not hold appropriate clearance, we would not normally send them to a school.  In exceptional circumstances we would advise the school of the full circumstances so that the school could agree to accept the teacher if it wished to do so.  In all cases we ask the DfES to carry out "List 99" checks before sending a teacher to a school.  Renaissance Education is registered with the DfES for List 99 checks.

This means schools can use our teachers with complete confidence that Renaissance Education is complying in full with current legislation and guidance.
